CNC Turning

CNC Turning is a cost effective and precision way to make a wide variety of parts from small to large quantities. We guarantee all designs we handle will remain confidential, and we are able to work under an NDA if requested. All parts we manufacture will be made in the USA out of our Everett, Washington facility. If you need anything from a prototype to a full production run of parts and want to work with a company that has a proven track record for success, please contact Constance Machine today for a free quote!

CNC Turning Advantages

CNC Milling is subtractive manufacturing method that has several advantages over other manufacturing methods.

  • Excels at creating round parts quickly.
  • Best option for tight dimensional tolerances on round dimensions.
  • Custom threads, splines, and keyways can be created.
  • Smooth surface finishes can be achieved when specified.
  • Cost-effective for both prototyping and production runs.
  • Most metals, plastics, and composites can be machined.

Design Considerations

There are several things to keep in mind when designing a part for CNC Turning.

  • Long thin parts can be difficult and expensive to machine.
  • Add chamfers to sharp edges so that burrs do not need to be removed by hand.
  • Features off axis of the center of the part are often cheaper and easier to machine on a mill, for example a bolt pattern on the face of the part.
  • The max workpiece diameter we can handle is 18″. Max travels are X 10.2″, Y 3.9″, Z 53″.
